A Cheap Trick Cruise??
OMG – I can’t believe it!! Yesterday a friend contacted Rob to ask about a theme Cruise that she was interested in… Then we learned that my favorite band of all time – Rockford’s own, Cheap Trick was in the line up!!! OMG – that’s it – we will be going on this one!! A Cheap Trick Cruise!! And hopefully so will YOU! I am getting in touch with Rick – right away!
Belles World Travel is putting together a group of Rockford Fans to show the world how we Party with the Home Town Boys!
Going to a Paaaaarrrrtyyyyy………..
On a Huge Cruise Ship!!
Newly inducted Rock Hall of Fame members, none other than our Home Town Boys – Cheap Trick, along with The Go-Go’s Belinda Carlisle, Survivor, Morris Day & The Time are all scheduled to perform on the 2017 edition of “The ’80s Cruise”.
Cheap Trick is an American rock band from Rockford, Illinois, formed in 1973.
As of 2010, the band currently consists of:
Robin Zander (vocals, rhythm guitar),
Rick Nielsen (lead guitar),
Tom Petersson (bass guitar) and
Daxx Nielsen, Rick’s Son (drums).
Their biggest hits include “Surrender“, “I Want You to Want Me“, “Dream Police” and “The Flame“.
They have often been referred to in the Japanese press as the “American Beatles”. In October 2007, the Illinois Senate passed a resolution designating April 1 as Cheap Trick Day in the state. In April 2016, the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. But you really know that you’ve made it when the City of Rockford names a street in your honor and a special website www.GoTrickFord.com is created by the Rockford Area Convention & Visitors Bureau!! Lynn’s first memory of the Tricksters was a concert that they played at the Riverview Ice House in Rockford! They set the stage up over the Hockey Box – and most of the audience was on Skates!! Lynn also remembers borrowing “out on the town” clothes from Jon Brandt’s closet with his girlfriend *** while he and the band were away on tour… Rob – moved to Rockford from the Southwest United States after college at the University of Illinois and met this weird guy with a braided beard at Jim Sweeney & Joe Brooke’s holiday party down the street (Rick Nielsen)!
The 80’s Cruise is a complete “buy out” of the Celebrity Summit
and is a seven-day step back in time to – the 80’s!
The cruise includes appearances by original MTV veejays Mark Goodman, Alan Hunter and Nina Blackwood and a roster of amazing bands representing all the different genres of music from the ’80s.
