Romantic Formal Evening out!
Over the weekend we did a local bridal show at Pearl Bistro. I never realized until we did all the set up preparation what a perfect honeymoon a cruise makes. I should have because we did a cruise for our honeymoon many years ago, a perfect romantic getaway. I still have a picture on my desk – me with my hair braided – I had it done on a secluded beach in St. Thomas.
Even then we went with our blueprint, a plan for what we wanted to do and where we wanted to go. I remember looking for a cab ride to the certain beach that we had in mind. All we could find was one of those open air tourism buses that was giving a “whole island” tour. The guide kept trying to sell us the tour. Being strong minded as we are, we said “no, just a ride thanks.” Finally with only two seats left on the tour he agreed to give us a ride to the beach. He would even discount his tour to us since it was just a ride. We agreed and enjoyed a very informative ride to the beach where we had a beautiful day.
As honeymoons go, we had booked months in advance. We made a small deposit which was followed by plenty of time to put aside money each month, like free financing. This is still typical today. You can book up to two years in advance for a couple hundred bucks, pay the rest just 90 days before the trip.
Maybe some of you remember the TV show The Love Boat. Princess Cruises is the original Love Boat cruise line who still today is offering a “Come Back New” experience. That’s because it’s true. There’s almost nothing more romantic than cruising. That must be why Rob and I do a honeymoon almost every year. Cruising is actually like that Love Boat experience – romance, relaxation, pampering – coupled with as much or little adventure as your heart desires.
