Reflexology at Sea – Windstar – WindSpa

It was to be the only “Sea Day” of our entire two week journey on Windstar’s Wind Surf, and the day after sailing away from Barbados for the second time. I knew I would have to hurry if I wanted to book the spa for Reflexology at Sea. #sponsored After reading the WindSpa menu, I really wanted to try, what I will call a foot massage with a purpose. “Reflexology at Sea” It was exactly halfway through our two-week vacation, so perfect timing! We had already done a lot of walking

Take a Walk on the Wild Side – Basseterre St Kitts

They had to mix in one mainstream port of call, during our two week cruise, just to remind us of how fortunate we have been to visit the unspoiled destinations that Windstar takes you to. Rob and I have been to Basseterre St Kitts many times before. There were five ships in port at Basseterre St Kitts. #Sponsored #Windstar We thought we would find a taxi or a tour to take us to the fort and the rum factory. Disappointingly they wanted way more than we were willing to spend fo

      It’s a process that’s for sure

Admittedly getting up at the crack of dawn shuttling to the airport, hustling through security, only to sit around for an hour or more is not at the top of my list, of enjoyable travel experiences. But it is a necessary evil – #Windstartravelagents #Airport #businessownertravel #Windstar #Caribbean #WindSurf

Travel Like an Architect™ was selected to Cruise to Cuba!

Cuba closed it’s borders around the time Rob and Lynn were born – 1962. Lynn’s parents went to Cuba on their Honeymoon in 1957 when it was considered “the Vegas of the Caribbean” and travel to there was cheap and easy!  According to recent pictures – it still looks the same…………  Of course they have been keeping their automobiles in good shape because we make most of the mainstream autos and they couldn’t get any new ones from us!  Excepting the autos – it totally reminds us o

Bike to the Beach – Grand Turk

Come along with us and Bike to the Beach! Rob did some research previous to our trip and learned about this guy “Tony” that would be renting bicycles at the Island of Grand Turk.  He contacted him via email and reserved our bicycles for Tuesday the 10th – the day our cruise on Holland America’s Eurodam would stop there. Upon arrival we asked at an info hut inside the secure cruise port area exactly where to find “Tony” the guy Rob spoke with in the email…   To our surprise, t

Visit amazing places you may otherwise avoid – Cruise there!

If you “Travel Like an Architect” you have an insatiable curiosity for the exotic and unusual. We have learned, through experience, there is no better way to visit amazing places and partake of marvelous architecture than on a cruise ship. First, there are simply some places that are difficult to impossible to reach UNLESS you cruise there. We flew to Manaus, Brazil — the headwater of the Amazon River. In Manaus, we boarded a cruise ship — our floating hotel. We navigated dow

Not everything is the same everywhere: Travel like an Architect™

Rob Belles trying on some leather shoes in Mexico When you Travel Like an Architect you will learn how the world works. It may come as a small surprise to many, and a little surprise to a few, but not everything is the same everywhere. Money is not the same – the value may not be the same, measurements are different (at least for us Americans). And daily schedules are not the same. As Dolly Parton sang “9 to 5,” five days a week, is the American norm. Rise, eat breakfast, wor

Got Greg Gallello in your Trunk?

Once you’ve met Greg Gallello – you will have him in your heart!!  If you buy his CD – you can put him in your Trunk TOO! Read the Lyrics to understand!!  Then Book a Cruise to buy one from him in person….  Near as I can tell that’s the only way you can get one!  He is a Piano Man in a Piano theme lounge on cruise ships most winters.  He lives in Canada where it’s cold so usually around October he gets on a Ship!  We are keeping track of him and per Greg – will be the first t

Travel Like an Architect™: Embrace new experiences

September to November, during hurricane season. Embrace new experiences, and you can have a great time while saving money. For our honeymoon cruise, in 1996, we embraced hurricane Lili. Read the back story on our blog: book-a-cruise.info/cruising-in-hurricane-season/. Standard cruise line strategy is to avoid storms, even small ones, as nobody likes bad weather on their vacation. Cruise ships can outrun storms, as they move about 8-10 knots, while ships cruise at 22-25 knots.

Cruising in Hurricane Season with Lili

The ship posted this map at the main dining room to inform the passengers. When you “Travel Like an Architect”™ you embrace new experiences. One of the most affordable locations to cruise is the Caribbean. The most affordable cruises can be taken in September to November during “Hurricane Season”. Embrace the experience, and you can have a great time while saving money. We were cruising in hurricane season with Lili – on our Honeymoon – 19 years ago! In the Fall of October 19
